The world-famous Brule River is a gem among the waterways of the Upper Midwest. Flowing 50 miles north into Lake Superior. The River provides consistent spring fed water through the Brule River State Forest. Among the 250,000 rivers in the U.S., it is among only 3 that has a ban on inflatables including inner tubes. Float among Wisconsin’s unblemished water and experience the finest canoeing or kayaking of its kind in America. Experience the picturesque beauty of the upper Brule or feel the exhilaration while being challenged on the more aggressive lower Brule’s 80+ rapids. Our novice trips are a breeze and the Brule is a haven for anglers after the wily trout.

Recreational Kayak Trips

As compared to the whitewater and sea kayak, a recreational kayak length is in the middle. They are light, and thus easier to handle both in and out of water. We use our recreational kayaks on the entire river with the exception of our D2 whitewater section.

Whitewater Kayak Trips

Whitewater kayaking is an adventure sport where a river is navigated in a decked kayak. These sit-in kayaks have a “skirt” that fits around your waist and covers the deck to prevent water from filling the kayak. The kayaks are shorter than recreational or sea kayaks and generally, you would use these kayaks while paddling larger class II, III and IV rapids.
